I enjoy getting to know our patients and their families, and love the beautiful transformations that happen with orthodontics. I handle the financial aspects of Sherman Orthodontics. Working with patients and families, I set up contracts and design payment plans that work with each person’s budget. I try to make sure that all of our patients can afford the care they need.
My husband and I live in Squirrel Hill and have raised two sons here. In my free time, I love to travel and play duplicate bridge. I can frequently be seen walking the neighborhood with my incredibly friendly dog Lucy.
The best parts about my job are getting to know and goofing off with all our patients — children, teens, and adults alike — and giving people a reason to smile at every visit. This is a fun, supportive office and our patients keep the place energized. I provide chairside assistance, to help Dr. Sherman as he tends to patients. I also ensure the flow from the front to the back office is consistent with scheduling and appointment procedures.
I’m originally from Fort Myers, Florida, and moved to Pittsburgh from Santa Barbara, California. I share my life with my new husband, Dean, and Duper the cat, who is named after Pascal Depuis of the Pittsburgh Penguins. When not working, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, cooking, strategy games, and being with friends and family.
I love seeing how our patients react when they see the outcome of their time and effort: beautiful smiles! It’s amazing how much a new smile builds up a person and gives him or her a lifetime of improved confidence. I seat patients, prepare them to see Dr. Sherman, and work chairside, to assist the doctor with procedures. I also teach patients about oral hygiene and encourage them to keep their mouth clean and healthy so their smile stays beautiful!
I have a young daughter who keeps me on my toes. I love watching her learn new things every day. She’s my Mini Me and is a crazy, loving, outgoing little girl. I enjoy all sports, crafting, playing games with my family, and anything to do with the outdoors. I’m also a crazy Pittsburgh fan, especially of the Steelers and Penguins!
Dental Administrative Assistant and Front Desk
I enjoy meeting new friends and making sure every patient and the family feels welcome and at home during visits. It’s a lot of fun to work with a great doctor and team, when we help people smile with confidence! I welcome and check patients in and out. I also answer the phones, schedule visits, manage patient flow, and handle our recalls. Additionally, I check in our lab and Invisalign® cases. I’m busy, but never too busy to hear what’s happening in someone’s life!
Outside the office, I love road trips and watching The Food Network with my family. I’m also a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles!
I like being part of a great team that helps patients develop healthier, more beautiful smiles. I’m one of the first people patients and families meet, because I oversee all initial exams. During the consultation, I talk about orthodontic treatment: how it works, what to expect, and different treatment options. I also answer patients’ and parents’ questions about the process and make sure they have all the information needed to make an informed decision about changing their smile!
I recently moved to Pittsburgh after spending 42 years in beautiful Los Gatos, California. My only daughter is currently studying at California State University, Monterey. I’m a huge San Francisco Giants fan and I love to travel.
